okay great<\/p>\n
so as as others<\/p>\n
who've preached in this series as<\/p>\n
they've said in this book we have the<\/p>\n
teacher who is like the main person<\/p>\n
talking<\/p>\n
and what's the teacher doing the teacher<\/p>\n
is observing things that happen in the<\/p>\n
world around him and the world around us<\/p>\n
and he's trying to make sense of them<\/p>\n
right and through this the the teacher<\/p>\n
shows us what it's like to try and<\/p>\n
figure out how and why things work in<\/p>\n
life<\/p>\n
okay<\/p>\n
sometimes life works out well doesn't it<\/p>\n
and then other times it does not work<\/p>\n
out well sometimes sometimes things seem<\/p>\n
very fair to us<\/p>\n
and then sometimes the next state can<\/p>\n
seem not fair at all the teacher in<\/p>\n
Ecclesiastes like all of us has a<\/p>\n
limited perspective<\/p>\n
so two words or phrases that the teacher<\/p>\n
uses in this book frequently the first<\/p>\n
one is life Under the Sun we've been<\/p>\n
talking about this a lot in this series<\/p>\n
it's used 29 times in the book<\/p>\n
and uh what that refers to is our<\/p>\n
perspective as limited uh dependent<\/p>\n
human beings so it's life Under the Sun<\/p>\n
the second word is a Hebrew word okay<\/p>\n
it's translated as like meaningless or<\/p>\n
vapor so it's meant to convey like<\/p>\n
temporary or like you know what I'm<\/p>\n
gonna do I'm actually gonna show us what<\/p>\n
what heavil is like that's the Hebrew<\/p>\n
word heavily<\/p>\n
don't be alarmed it'll be okay<\/p>\n
it's not fire just wait wait for it<\/p>\n
so this this is heavil all right so<\/p>\n
hevel it's like temporary meaning like<\/p>\n
you see it and then it's gone sorry it's<\/p>\n
heading else Direction excuse that and<\/p>\n
also hevel is also meant to show us that<\/p>\n
like we can kind of make out what form<\/p>\n
it's in<\/p>\n
but then you try and grab it and and<\/p>\n
it's not the same form right so it's<\/p>\n
temporary it's like<\/p>\n
always changing and so when we put these<\/p>\n
two phrases together life Under the Sun<\/p>\n
and heavil we can see that the teachers<\/p>\n
saying that like life Under the Sun Life<\/p>\n
from our limited perspective is<\/p>\n
temporary and when you try and grab it<\/p>\n
or make sense of it you can't this is<\/p>\n
kind of how it goes it's kind of<\/p>\n
mysterious Okay so<\/p>\n
yeah we believe<\/p>\n
yeah we're talking about live from our<\/p>\n
limited human perspective and it doesn't<\/p>\n
make sense sometimes much of this is<\/p>\n
what sin has done to our world okay as<\/p>\n
you as our Christians we believe that<\/p>\n
God created the world perfect<\/p>\n
and then um When sin entered into the<\/p>\n
world<\/p>\n
it twists and it lies and it makes<\/p>\n
things unjust and sin does this to both<\/p>\n
our own hearts and it does this to the<\/p>\n
world around us as well and the teacher<\/p>\n
is observing all this he's seeing that<\/p>\n
life Under the Sun is confusing<\/p>\n
uh here we go okay uh so we see these<\/p>\n
themes of Life Under the Sun and hevel<\/p>\n
in our chapter today in Ecclesiastes 11<\/p>\n
uh in verses one through six it'll be on<\/p>\n
the screen in a second the teacher is<\/p>\n
going to tell us that there are a lot of<\/p>\n
things that we do not know our<\/p>\n
perspective is limited and then in<\/p>\n
verses 7 through 10 the teacher is going<\/p>\n
to tell us to rejoice in life but there<\/p>\n
will be dark days in our lives life<\/p>\n
can't always be figured out so again<\/p>\n
that's how we're going to look at<\/p>\n
Ecclesiastes 11 today the first section<\/p>\n
of entitled it you don't know that's in<\/p>\n
verses 6 through 10 in the second<\/p>\n
section<\/p>\n
is verses 7 through 10 Rejoice but so<\/p>\n
here's the first section verse verses<\/p>\n
one through six<\/p>\n
there we go okay it's up on the screen<\/p>\n
I'm gonna read Ecclesiastes 11 1-6<\/p>\n
cast your bread upon the waters for you<\/p>\n
will find it after many days give a<\/p>\n
portion to seven or even to eight for<\/p>\n
you know not what disaster may happen on<\/p>\n
Earth<\/p>\n
if the clouds are full of rain they<\/p>\n
empty themselves on the Earth<\/p>\n
and if a tree falls to the South or to<\/p>\n
the north in the place where the tree<\/p>\n
falls there it will lie he who observes<\/p>\n
the wind will not sow and he who regards<\/p>\n
the clouds will not reap<\/p>\n
as you do not know the way the spirit<\/p>\n
comes to the bones in the womb of a<\/p>\n
woman with child so you do not know the<\/p>\n
work of God who makes everything<\/p>\n
in the morning sow your seed and at<\/p>\n
evening withhold not your hand for you<\/p>\n
do not know which will prosper this or<\/p>\n
that<\/p>\n
or whether both alike will be good this<\/p>\n
is the word of the Lord<\/p>\n
so I did this last time I preached I<\/p>\n
like to summarize what sections mean so<\/p>\n
if we were to summarize this section in<\/p>\n
one sentence okay you ready we could say<\/p>\n
you don't know what's going to happen in<\/p>\n
your life but that shouldn't stop you<\/p>\n
from pursuing things in life okay I'll<\/p>\n
say it again a little bit differently<\/p>\n
you don't know what's going to happen<\/p>\n
tomorrow or next month or next year but<\/p>\n
you should still keep living and working<\/p>\n
and pursuing things<\/p>\n
okay I'm going to start by looking at<\/p>\n
this statement you don't know<\/p>\n
look at verse two it says for you know<\/p>\n
not<\/p>\n
in verse 5 he says it twice as you do<\/p>\n
not know as you do not know verse 6 he<\/p>\n
says it again<\/p>\n
and I am not in control and I know it<\/p>\n
may seem crazy but we don't know what's<\/p>\n
going to happen tomorrow okay<\/p>\n
we don't understand as much as we think<\/p>\n
that we do<\/p>\n
this this book Ecclesiastes it was<\/p>\n
written about 3 000 years ago<\/p>\n
and there are a lot of things in our<\/p>\n
world that have changed in the past<\/p>\n
three thousand years right<\/p>\n
the world has developed in many ways<\/p>\n
some of you may have one of these now<\/p>\n
okay and in many ways we can we can try<\/p>\n
and control our lives with this<\/p>\n
we can monitor our sleep we can be up to<\/p>\n
date on what our friends are doing every<\/p>\n
minute of the day and what the whole<\/p>\n
world is doing at the at every minute of<\/p>\n
the day and we can find almost any piece<\/p>\n
of information we want to<\/p>\n
but in some ways our world has not<\/p>\n
changed at all in 3000 years in verse<\/p>\n
two if you want to look at the screen it<\/p>\n
talks about not knowing when disaster<\/p>\n
will hit on Earth<\/p>\n
where were you in January of 2020 when<\/p>\n
covet hit<\/p>\n
do you remember<\/p>\n
how has it affected your life over the<\/p>\n
past three years<\/p>\n
and what kind of control have you had<\/p>\n
over that<\/p>\n
much<\/p>\n
today it's uh it's election day in<\/p>\n
Thailand and we need to pray for for the<\/p>\n
nation for the lord to bless us with a<\/p>\n
good government<\/p>\n
I was listening to an interview of one<\/p>\n
of the candidates in he was asked why<\/p>\n
should the government help people<\/p>\n
and the first reason this person gave<\/p>\n
was this he said I'll quote he said the<\/p>\n
situation of our world right now is<\/p>\n
increasingly unstable and predictable we<\/p>\n
have people losing jobs every day for<\/p>\n
reasons they cannot control and then add<\/p>\n
on a situation like covid which is<\/p>\n
something that no one could have ever<\/p>\n
predicted<\/p>\n
brothers and sisters our ability to<\/p>\n
control our lives and know what's going<\/p>\n
to happen today is no different than for<\/p>\n
the people than for the people when<\/p>\n
Ecclesiastes was written we are<\/p>\n
dependent on so many things outside of<\/p>\n
us the air that we breathe the water<\/p>\n
that we drink the food we eat the people<\/p>\n
that we rely on<\/p>\n
and ultimately it's God our creator who<\/p>\n
supplies all these things for us<\/p>\n
so okay of course there are some things<\/p>\n
that we can do and we can know again you<\/p>\n
look up at the screen oh verse 3 it<\/p>\n
talks about how the clouds tell us if<\/p>\n
it's going to rain and if a tree falls<\/p>\n
one way then it's going to lie that way<\/p>\n
but we are limited and we don't know<\/p>\n
what's going to happen do we<\/p>\n
I'm getting at this point because this<\/p>\n
is what the teacher's getting at by<\/p>\n
saying you don't know so many times<\/p>\n
when we don't know what's going to<\/p>\n
happen What do we do how do we feel<\/p>\n
please think about your own life and I<\/p>\n
want to think about my own life our our<\/p>\n
jobs<\/p>\n
we pray and hope that they're stable but<\/p>\n
and then we don't know what's going to<\/p>\n
happen tomorrow our families<\/p>\n
your husband your wife your kids your<\/p>\n
parents we pray that we're on good terms<\/p>\n
with them tomorrow and we pray that<\/p>\n
they're healthy but but ultimately we<\/p>\n
don't know that do we<\/p>\n
this is uncomfortable to think about<\/p>\n
okay if you feel uncomfortable right now<\/p>\n
I think I think that's what scripture is<\/p>\n
getting at here we don't want to imagine<\/p>\n
if something bad were to happen to<\/p>\n
someone we love<\/p>\n
but this is what the teacher is pointing<\/p>\n
out to okay another lesson here your<\/p>\n
foundation for living my foundation for<\/p>\n
living our reason for existence our<\/p>\n
purpose on this Earth cannot come from<\/p>\n
what we do for work who you're married<\/p>\n
to healthy you are mentally or<\/p>\n
physically again these are some of the<\/p>\n
most important things about you<\/p>\n
what you do every day who you love your<\/p>\n
health but they are not guaranteed again<\/p>\n
to in this example we could bring up<\/p>\n
millions of people where they they lost<\/p>\n
everything and KOA they lost their<\/p>\n
finances they lost their health they<\/p>\n
lost loved ones<\/p>\n
against it's difficult to think about<\/p>\n
this but this is where the teacher is<\/p>\n
pointing pointing us to and we need to<\/p>\n
consider this<\/p>\n
so what is his advice<\/p>\n
he tells us to not let the uncertainty<\/p>\n
of life keep us from living<\/p>\n
he guides us to to not don't let the<\/p>\n
instability or your lack of control<\/p>\n
cause you not to pursue things and<\/p>\n
before before we look at more at what<\/p>\n
exactly the teacher says here I want to<\/p>\n
remind us that the metaphors and the<\/p>\n
language she uses these were written for<\/p>\n
people in the Middle East 3000 years ago<\/p>\n
so they may need a little bit of<\/p>\n
explanation but but I think some of<\/p>\n
it'll be it'll be fun so so in verse one<\/p>\n
again at some point here on the screen<\/p>\n
if you want to look at it it says cast<\/p>\n
your bread upon the waters for you will<\/p>\n
find it after many days<\/p>\n
for this metaphor you need to realize<\/p>\n
that the bread he's talking about is not<\/p>\n
from the kanumbang section at 7-Eleven<\/p>\n
that would break apart as soon as you<\/p>\n
threw it in the water okay we're talking<\/p>\n
about like Middle Eastern dense heavy<\/p>\n
bread that would actually float he's<\/p>\n
saying to there are other Middle Eastern<\/p>\n
like ancient Middle Eastern phrases like<\/p>\n
this that all refer to giving or<\/p>\n
generosity so the teacher is talking<\/p>\n
about if you give you will receive maybe<\/p>\n
not in this life but in the next life we<\/p>\n
should give even though we don't know<\/p>\n
what's going to happen<\/p>\n
in verse 2 he tells us to give a portion<\/p>\n
to seven or eight which just means that<\/p>\n
we should spread out our resources<\/p>\n
because we don't know when disaster will<\/p>\n
happen<\/p>\n
we can say that the teacher here in<\/p>\n
verses one and two he's encouraging us<\/p>\n
that even though you and I we can't<\/p>\n
control the future we should still give<\/p>\n
and invest with what we have and and I<\/p>\n
think it's neat here he uses examples<\/p>\n
both from generosity and also from<\/p>\n
business so it's like a a broad call to<\/p>\n
use whatever opportunity or resources<\/p>\n
you may have<\/p>\n
in verse 3 he says again look at here<\/p>\n
look at it up here on the screen he says<\/p>\n
there's some things that we can know<\/p>\n
like if the clouds are full of rain it's<\/p>\n
probably going to rain<\/p>\n
a very helpful metaphor for May and<\/p>\n
Bangkok right we're about to enter rainy<\/p>\n
season so if you see clouds towering<\/p>\n
over terminal 21 you can see it out<\/p>\n
there it's probably going to rain okay<\/p>\n
we can know some things right and if a<\/p>\n
tree falls this is not as helpful for<\/p>\n
Bangkok if a tree falls it's going to<\/p>\n
lie in the place it means like if it<\/p>\n
falls this way it's going to lie that<\/p>\n
way but for the people of Israel at that<\/p>\n
time it would have been a helpful<\/p>\n
metaphor farming agricultural Community<\/p>\n
they would have had an instance where<\/p>\n
they go out to get their crops that day<\/p>\n
there's a tree falling right there okay<\/p>\n
I'm gonna go into verse four look at<\/p>\n
verse four he says he who observes the<\/p>\n
wind will not sow and he who regards the<\/p>\n
clouds will not reap<\/p>\n
even though we can know some things<\/p>\n
about the clouds and trees the teacher<\/p>\n
he warns us with that we shouldn't try<\/p>\n
and calculate or spend too much time<\/p>\n
trying to figure out the best time to do<\/p>\n
something<\/p>\n
if someone just tried just sits out with<\/p>\n
their seeds right a plant and figures<\/p>\n
out when the wind or when the rains at<\/p>\n
the perfect time to do so they're going<\/p>\n
to end up not doing it at all there's no<\/p>\n
Perfect Situation again here we see how<\/p>\n
sin has affected our world and the<\/p>\n
Israelites here they would have had<\/p>\n
experience with this they probably would<\/p>\n
have had days where like they're waiting<\/p>\n
for that wind to stop or they're waiting<\/p>\n
for the rain to come and like doesn't<\/p>\n
come didn't work how they wanted to I<\/p>\n
wanted how they wanted to<\/p>\n
okay come back to Bangkok 2023 a modern<\/p>\n
day example all right I'm sitting in a<\/p>\n
cab with a taxi driver and he had lost<\/p>\n
his job because of copen he'd start a<\/p>\n
business but he lost it and he he wants<\/p>\n
to get back into business and so he's<\/p>\n
he's saving up and he's waiting for that<\/p>\n
time to start the business right so he's<\/p>\n
looking at numbers looking at other<\/p>\n
other businesses in his industry<\/p>\n
that he wants to start it in but<\/p>\n
ultimately what he doesn't know what's<\/p>\n
going to happen tomorrow right well none<\/p>\n
of us know<\/p>\n
verse 6 moving on continues the theme of<\/p>\n
working hard even though we don't know<\/p>\n
the teacher says it's better to sow your<\/p>\n
seeds twice per day because you don't<\/p>\n
know which one of those will go well I<\/p>\n
want to close us with this section by<\/p>\n
looking at verse 5.<\/p>\n
it says as you do not know the way the<\/p>\n
spirit comes to the bones in the womb of<\/p>\n
a woman with child so you do not know<\/p>\n
the work of God who makes everything<\/p>\n
this is a very powerful picture<\/p>\n
here the teacher points to one of the<\/p>\n
biggest mysteries and miracles of all<\/p>\n
the origin of life itself<\/p>\n
all right it's one thing for you and I<\/p>\n
to to not know all about the weather and<\/p>\n
clouds and rain<\/p>\n
but it's something entirely deeper for<\/p>\n
us to not fully understand how and why<\/p>\n
our life happens okay it's amazing and<\/p>\n
great that science can show us pictures<\/p>\n
of the development of of a child in the<\/p>\n
womb but overall the way a child is<\/p>\n
formed the way the way life happens in<\/p>\n
the womb is a mysterious Miracle to us<\/p>\n
as we've said that the teacher has the<\/p>\n
perspective of being under the sun of<\/p>\n
having a limited perspective but here<\/p>\n
it's very important he points to the one<\/p>\n
who is above the Sun the one who knows<\/p>\n
all who has the full perspective who is<\/p>\n
the creator of Life who has made<\/p>\n
everything<\/p>\n
it's God it's God who makes and works in<\/p>\n
so while it is good to invest and give<\/p>\n
in many different ways it's good to<\/p>\n
listen to the advice of the teacher here<\/p>\n
and it's good to to work hard knowing<\/p>\n
not knowing which one of our efforts<\/p>\n
will succeed but we must do this out of<\/p>\n
a deeper perspective than just working<\/p>\n
hard or spreading out our resources<\/p>\n
ultimately we trust and and know that<\/p>\n
God is involved in our work and God is<\/p>\n
the one who cares about our lives<\/p>\n
again the teacher here these are good<\/p>\n
and practical reasons for your<\/p>\n
generosity and your business of why we<\/p>\n
shouldn't withdraw from life but<\/p>\n
trusting in God the one who made us and<\/p>\n
the one who made us to work this should<\/p>\n
be like our anchor and the thing that<\/p>\n
holds us as we pursue things<\/p>\n
okay so I'm guessing at this point you<\/p>\n
may be asking okay Ty how do I know that<\/p>\n
God cares and is involved you're right I<\/p>\n
can see that I'm not in control that<\/p>\n
that points clear and life doesn't make<\/p>\n
sense a lot of time but how do we no<\/p>\n
if you don't think that God is involved<\/p>\n
with or cares about your life because I<\/p>\n
I feel the same life sometimes consider<\/p>\n
this<\/p>\n
The God Who makes the Spirit come to the<\/p>\n
bones of a baby inside of a woman The<\/p>\n
God Who makes everything Our God became<\/p>\n
flesh and dwelt Among Us<\/p>\n
Jesus was born of a woman just like you<\/p>\n
and just like I was Jesus entered into<\/p>\n
life Under the Sun that is like a vapor<\/p>\n
just like you and just like me<\/p>\n
Jesus he would have experienced both the<\/p>\n
ups and the Downs of life and his work<\/p>\n
as a carpenter and his work here on<\/p>\n
Earth living in a world where sometimes<\/p>\n
he was treated right and oftentimes as<\/p>\n
we know he was not treated right<\/p>\n
in order to heal what is wrong with this<\/p>\n
world this is more than just the<\/p>\n
Forgiveness of sins and forgiveness of<\/p>\n
your sins and my sins that Jesus Paid<\/p>\n
for on the cross of course it includes<\/p>\n
that and that's amazing<\/p>\n
but Jesus did much more than that okay<\/p>\n
on the cross Jesus began what we call<\/p>\n
the Redemption or like the fixing the<\/p>\n
making of everything right in the world<\/p>\n
Jesus came into life Under the Sun to<\/p>\n
fix it for all who trust in him Jesus is<\/p>\n
working in all things<\/p>\n
I'm gonna guess again what you're<\/p>\n
thinking at this point okay Ty I get<\/p>\n
that makes sense I know the Bible<\/p>\n
teaches that Jesus's death fixes<\/p>\n
everything but my life is still very<\/p>\n
difficult and to that I would respond<\/p>\n
mine is too<\/p>\n
and it's here that we have to hold on to<\/p>\n
the promises that Jesus that Jesus gives<\/p>\n
and these promises are greater than the<\/p>\n
advice of the teacher here in<\/p>\n
Ecclesiastes whereas the teacher tells<\/p>\n
you to spread out your resources in case<\/p>\n
disaster happens because of Jesus we can<\/p>\n
know that in Colossians it says whatever<\/p>\n
you do in word or deed do everything in<\/p>\n
the name of the Lord Jesus giving thanks<\/p>\n
to God the Father through him<\/p>\n
brothers and sisters God promises Jesus<\/p>\n
promises that our work whether it be<\/p>\n
teaching students whether it be<\/p>\n
designing things on a computer<\/p>\n
our work done for the glory of God is<\/p>\n
not in vain and whatever we do for<\/p>\n
others whether whether it's noticed or<\/p>\n
Not Jesus says it's as if we do it for<\/p>\n
him Matthew 25 says I was hungry and you<\/p>\n
gave me food I was thirsty and you gave<\/p>\n
me a drink I was a stranger and you<\/p>\n
welcomed me truly I say to you as you<\/p>\n
did to one of the least of these<\/p>\n
brothers you did it to me<\/p>\n
Jesus sees our work here and our work<\/p>\n
here is redeemed because of what he's<\/p>\n
done we must see that our work here is<\/p>\n
done for the lord it's not random and<\/p>\n
it's not wasted<\/p>\n
okay let's let's move on to the next<\/p>\n
section verse 7.<\/p>\n
so<\/p>\n
after verses one through six<\/p>\n
talking about how we should live and<\/p>\n
work in a world that we don't understand<\/p>\n
fully the teacher he now moves into like<\/p>\n
what's the final section of the entire<\/p>\n
Book of Ecclesiastes<\/p>\n
and in this section he brings together a<\/p>\n
lot of what what he's been talking about<\/p>\n
this whole time and here we see the<\/p>\n
process of like<\/p>\n
being born being young growing old and<\/p>\n
then dying okay for for today though<\/p>\n
we're just going to look at these four<\/p>\n
verses about being young I get to talk<\/p>\n
about being young but if you want to<\/p>\n
talk about growing old and dying needed<\/p>\n
on we'll talk about that next week so<\/p>\n
you should come back and hear about<\/p>\n

pitch okay<\/p>\n
I'm going to read Ecclesiastes 11 verses<\/p>\n
7 through 10.<\/p>\n
it's up here on the screen as well<\/p>\n
light is sweet and it's Pleasant for the<\/p>\n
eyes to see the sun<\/p>\n
so if a person lives many years let him<\/p>\n
rejoice in them all but let him remember<\/p>\n
that the days of darkness will be many<\/p>\n
all that comes is Vanity<\/p>\n
Rejoice O young man and your Youth and<\/p>\n
let your heart cheer you in the days of<\/p>\n
your youth walk in the ways of your<\/p>\n
heart and the side of your eyes but know<\/p>\n
that for all these things God will bring<\/p>\n
you into judgment<\/p>\n
remove vexation from your hearts and put<\/p>\n
away pain from your body for Youth and<\/p>\n
Dawn and the dawn of life or vanity<\/p>\n
so again I'm going to summarize this<\/p>\n
section to help us understand it we<\/p>\n
could say in one sentence<\/p>\n
enjoy life<\/p>\n
but there will be Darkness<\/p>\n
or be happy but know that life is over<\/p>\n
like that<\/p>\n
it's a mist and you're gonna die<\/p>\n
speaking from this under the sun limited<\/p>\n
perspective so while many of his<\/p>\n
thoughts and advices are right in their<\/p>\n
amazing observations it's not the full<\/p>\n
picture<\/p>\n
look at uh verse 7 he says that light is<\/p>\n
sweet and it's Pleasant people don't<\/p>\n
want to see the sun right now right most<\/p>\n
people are trying to hide away from the<\/p>\n
Sun but if you can think about if you<\/p>\n
can remember a morning in January or<\/p>\n
December when it was cold season you go<\/p>\n
out first thing in the morning and<\/p>\n
before the traffic started that's the<\/p>\n
kind of light we're talking about here<\/p>\n
in verse 7.<\/p>\n
light and Sun are a gift from God<\/p>\n
life is a gift from God we see this all<\/p>\n
over scripture Psalm 128 says happy is<\/p>\n
everyone who fears the Lord who walks in<\/p>\n
his ways you shall eat the fruit of your<\/p>\n
of the labor of your hands you shall be<\/p>\n
happy and it shall go well with you<\/p>\n
life it's a gift and it should be<\/p>\n
enjoyed by us verse 8 it says that if<\/p>\n
you live for many years then rejoice in<\/p>\n
them<\/p>\n
but<\/p>\n
there's always a butt isn't there okay<\/p>\n
one commentator about this section he<\/p>\n
says that the teacher will like give<\/p>\n
with one hand and say rejoice and then<\/p>\n
he takes with the other other hand it<\/p>\n
says but<\/p>\n
he said uh he says but<\/p>\n
here he tells us to Rejoice but remember<\/p>\n
all is a vapor and death is coming<\/p>\n
but then look at verse 9 he goes back<\/p>\n
and he tells us rejoice o young man in<\/p>\n
your Youth and let your heart cheer you<\/p>\n
in the days of your youth walk in the<\/p>\n
ways of your heart and the side of your<\/p>\n
eyes<\/p>\n
but again we see it again there's the<\/p>\n
butt we will all be judged by God<\/p>\n
the call to rejoice in life it's not<\/p>\n
permission to do anything that you want<\/p>\n
God is the one who has created you and<\/p>\n
designed you and his law his way is best<\/p>\n
and he will judge all of us according to<\/p>\n
his law so follow your heart and enjoy<\/p>\n
life enjoy what God has given you but do<\/p>\n
this within the bounds of God's law with<\/p>\n
him as your creator<\/p>\n
verse 10 says remove vexation from your<\/p>\n
heart and put away pain from your body<\/p>\n
for youth in the dawn of Life are vanity<\/p>\n
or a vapor or messed okay I have another<\/p>\n
example here I think a helpful way for<\/p>\n
us to think about this section of the<\/p>\n
teacher's sayings is to compare it with<\/p>\n
a dessert or sweets okay so I need<\/p>\n
everyone to think about your favorite<\/p>\n
dessert or sweet right maybe it's<\/p>\n
chocolate cake or nam kingsai I love Nam<\/p>\n
King sign or mango ice cream or some<\/p>\n
sort of candy okay does everybody have<\/p>\n
their dessert in their head we good<\/p>\n
this is a gift from God<\/p>\n
it's Pleasant to eat it<\/p>\n
you should rejoice in it<\/p>\n
enjoy enjoy it while you can<\/p>\n
there's nothing wrong with eating<\/p>\n
chocolate cake<\/p>\n
but you're going to finish that piece of<\/p>\n
cake<\/p>\n
if you're like my son yesterday he<\/p>\n
finished it in about eight seconds<\/p>\n
the cake is like a vapor<\/p>\n
enjoy the mango ice cream but do it in a<\/p>\n
way that honors God knowing that you'll<\/p>\n
be judged for the way that you hate that<\/p>\n
ice cream<\/p>\n
and stop worrying stop having vexation<\/p>\n
about how to make that candy or about<\/p>\n
how to make that cake worth more than it<\/p>\n
actually is because you know what it's<\/p>\n
going to be gone before you know it<\/p>\n
candy<\/p>\n
and cake or something under the sun I<\/p>\n
suppose something to be enjoyed and<\/p>\n
something that disappears very quickly<\/p>\n
it's a gift life Under the Sun is a gift<\/p>\n
from God but it's a vapor and it's not<\/p>\n
ultimate<\/p>\n
true lasting joy in life is meant to be<\/p>\n
found above the Sun<\/p>\n
it's to be found above the sun it's in<\/p>\n
God as our creator and that's where the<\/p>\n
teacher that's where this whole book is<\/p>\n
headed in the next and final chapter in<\/p>\n
chapter 12. in chapter 12 it'll tell us<\/p>\n
to remember our creator it will tell us<\/p>\n
to fear God and to keep his Commandments<\/p>\n
for this is the whole duty of man<\/p>\n
so how do we close how do we how do we<\/p>\n
summarize all this<\/p>\n
as we've seen the teacher and<\/p>\n
Ecclesiastes he's observing how life<\/p>\n
Works under the sun right it can seem<\/p>\n
confusing we don't know what's going to<\/p>\n
happen sometimes things go exactly as we<\/p>\n
plan and it feels amazing and then the<\/p>\n
next day it feels terrible because<\/p>\n
they've all gone astray<\/p>\n
when we only view life from a human<\/p>\n
perspective it can be very depressing we<\/p>\n
work hard but sometimes we don't see the<\/p>\n
fruit<\/p>\n
we rejoice in our youth and enjoy life<\/p>\n
but then we look up and we see that<\/p>\n
death is coming<\/p>\n
brothers and sisters life on this Earth<\/p>\n
is a gift but our hearts cry out isn't<\/p>\n
there something more than eating<\/p>\n
We Praise Jesus our God the one who is<\/p>\n
above the Sun the one who made all<\/p>\n
things we remember and thank him for<\/p>\n
coming down to life Under the Sun where<\/p>\n
we are to save us and he did this so<\/p>\n
that our work so that you're working my<\/p>\n
work isn't in vain even when things seem<\/p>\n
to go wrong from our perspective we work<\/p>\n
to glorify him<\/p>\n
because Jesus came to fix the world<\/p>\n
Under the Sun you and I can enjoy life<\/p>\n
for what it is we can enjoy that mango<\/p>\n
ice cream because it's something created<\/p>\n
that points to the one who will<\/p>\n
ultimately satisfy us the Creator our<\/p>\n
creator<\/p>\n
remember your creator<\/p>\n
fear God and keep his Commandments this<\/p>\n
is why we were created let's pray<\/p>\n
father we are grateful for for your word<\/p>\n
Lord thank you for how your word comes<\/p>\n
and<\/p>\n
speaks to our hearts Lord it shows us<\/p>\n
things about our hearts that we didn't<\/p>\n
even know were there Lord and ultimately<\/p>\n
shows us that that it's you that we<\/p>\n
thirst for it's you that we long for<\/p>\n
Lord thank you Jesus for for coming to<\/p>\n
this earth to save us sinners Lord so we<\/p>\n
can be reconciled to God bless bless<\/p>\n
your work this time God in Jesus name<\/p>\n
